- Heyrick, Thomas
- (1649-1694)Born at Market Harborough, Leicestershire, he was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge, from where he graduated M.A. in 1675. In 1671 he was among the contributors to the collection of Cambridge verses on the death of Anne, Duchess of York. He was appointed curate of Market Harborough, Leicestershire, and died and was buried there. In 1685 he published The Character of a Rebel: A Sermon preached on the Day of Thanksgiving for His Majesties Victory over the Rebels, with a dedication to Edward Griffin, Esq., treasurer of the Great Chamber. His Miscellany Poems was published in 1691 with a dedication to the Countess of Rutland. Many of his poems relate to animals. The New Atlantis: A Poem, in Three Books, With Some Reflections Upon the Hind and the Panther was published in 1694.
